Benzyl alcohol is used as a general solvent for inks, waxes, shellacs, paints, lacquers and epoxy resin coatings.
It is a precursor to a variety of esters used in the manufacture of soap, perfume, flavors & fragrances, and food additives. Benzyl alcohol is also useful as a degreasing agent, dyeing polyamide, and as a bonding aid. It is also used in adhesives, sealants, dyes, lubricants, plating, building/construction materials and as a photographic developer.
